Christmas Sharing

The joy, the special feeling of knowing you are about to make someone happy, and the anticipation of smiles and joyous facial expressions all add up to making Christmas the very special holiday that it is.

Such anticipation  has been most evident throughout the Provincial House for the past couple weeks as the Sisters in residence have participated in and focused upon our GIVING TREE that graces the visitors’ lounge.

treeIt is a long standing tradition that the day after the December 8th celebration of the Congregation’s foundation day, Claudia Bettez and her recreation department organize a Christmas Tree blessing and decorating  ceremony that goes on throughout the day. Once the tree is adorned, it is time to set the Christmas gifts at its feet and watch the pile grow until these treasures are handed over to a local charity for distribution to underprivileged families. The gifts this year will be given to Project Northeast and Eleanor Baldoni and Rev. Richard Archambault will be Santa’s helpers in matching the gifts with the children.

treeAll Sisters and friends of the DHS are invited to join in this project. The Sisters either did their own shopping or asked our volunteer elves to shop and/or to wrap their gifts. The Sisters are invited to place their own gifts under the tree or to delegate someone to do that for them. A few days before Christmas we will all gather in the lounge to officially and happily give our gifts destined for the children whose families rely on Project Northeast.

Indeed the joy of giving and the satisfaction of knowing that the coming of the Child Jesus into our lives is truly incarnated in our sharing with others reminds all of us that we are truly blessed and that God’s love is ours to share everyday in every way possible.

MAY THE JOY OF SHARING BE YOURS  TODAY AND ALWAYS.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, JOYEUX NOEL, FELIZ NAVIDAD TO ONE AND ALL!
