From Putnam to L’ile Blanche...Province Assembly

While 3,277 miles separate Putnam, CT from Brittany, France, the combined fall assembly of the USA east coast Associates and that of the Province gapped that great distance with apparent ease and made all participants actually feel they had been temporarily transported to l’île Blanche in Locquirec, France for an up close and personal reliving of the International Sprititual Family Assembly.

An atmosphere of wonder, interculturality and internationality permeated the gymnatorium of the Provincial House as peak moments from the August sessions were reconstructed and replicated.  Power point presentations for reflection and savoring assisted the organizing committee in drawing in each and every DHS, Consecrated Secular and Associate in attendance.  The conversation was dynamic, the sharing profound and the overall sentiments appreciative as ideas, images and freely spoken words wafted through the gathering.  The festive ambiance was accented through the red, yellow, orange and white scarves and table decor noting each member’s branch or participating service.

The culminating point was a Eucharistic celebration featuring readings, music and gifts reflecting and representing the various languages and customs of our DHS international congregation.

The following visual presentation offers you the opportunity to enter into the spirit of our assembly, into the spirit of our growing appreciation and love of the multi cultures and visages that compose our international Family and to give thanks to the Spirit whose inspiration we strive to follow as “we witness the love of God in the world”.
