A Shared Reflection at Pentecost
Spirit

The love of God has been poured into our hearts through the
                  Spirit of God dwelling within us.  (Romans 5:5
)

God ‘s Spirit breathes forth love. The apostles and friends who had shut themselves up in the upper room experienced this Spirit breezing. This holy wind opened them up to innumerable possibilities. The door opened with all going out fearlessly to face the world and bring the Good News of Jesus Christ and God’s love to that same world.

Ever since that day, loyal followers of Jesus have gone out, moved by the guiding, energizing winds of the Spirit to spread the news of God’s wonderful love. Sometimes these are gentle breezes nudging us along. Sometimes they are more animated, energizing winds. There are times in every life when there may be gale force winds from the Spirit churning lives and causing major change.

What about our individual lives today? Have you noticed the breezes of the Spirit in your life? How has the Spirit led you? As we celebrate the great feast of Pentecost, take time to listen to the promptings of the Spirit, to ponder the action of the Spirit in your life now and for the future, and then, give thanks.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke of the marvels of God!   (Acts 2:4)

We would love to hear your take on the Spirit at work in your life. Please take the time to write to us to share the wonders of the Pentecost moments in your daily life. Address your responses to Marian St Marie,DHS  (marianst.marie@gmail.com

May the Spirit be alive and well in all of us as we set the world ablaze in love and compassion!
