Sr. Cécile LeBeau, DHS
January 19, 1930 – February 26, 2024

Sr. Cécile LeBeau, 94, a member of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, passed away on Monday February 26, 2024 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT.

Born in Putnam, CT on January 19, 1930, the daughter of Alfred and Yvonne (Bergeron) LeBeau, Marie Cécile was the 3rd of 8 children. She entered religious life in 1951 and made her religious profession on August 23, 1952 at the Motherhouse in St. Brieuc, France. She was then known as Sr. Cécile Irene.

Returning to the US, her natural culinary skills were put at the service of DHS communities in Pittsfield, MA and Tupper Lake, NY while pursuing her degree in Elementary Education at Annhurst College. She then taught in elementary schools in Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Her love for the Pittsfield, MA area remained strong and Sr. Cécile returned in 1980 to serve as a pastoral minister at Notre Dame Parish and then as a volunteer at St. Joseph Parish until 2011 when she returned to Putnam before joining the community at St Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT in 2016.

Cécile was known for her winning smile, her love of sharing good times and fun and her short and quick responses that always made us wonder what would come next.

Cécile, enjoy the eternal peace and comfort of your God’s everlasting Love.
