Rachelle M. DoyonRACHELLE M. DOYON, member of the Secular Branch of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit entered life eternal on Friday, May 9th, 2025 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT where she had been in residence for the past few years.

Rachelle was born in Waterbury, CT on February 8, 1941 and attended local Catholic elementary school where she first met the Daughters of the Holy Spirit.  After graduating from Crosby High School Doyon entered the Novitiate of the DHS in Putnam, CT and professed her first vows in June of 1961. Rachelle was part of the original group to transfer vows to the Secular Branch upon its foundation.

Rachelle was by nature very shy but managed to win the hearts of her many clients throughout a very eclectic career in Social Services with various religious and secular organizations. She also served as a case worker, certified nursing assistant, pastoral volunteer, worked with the greater Waterbury Mental Health Authority and assisted with elderly health programs.

Rachelle was known for  her simplicity and her tenacity. When she wanted to achieve something she managed to find the means, the connections and the resources necessary, at times to her own surprise. By her own admission, Rachelle often struggled with schoolwork, but she never allowed that to deter her from pursuing her ambitions and her deep desire to find a way to help others, especially when it came to assisting children at risk and the elderly. Rachelle’s gleaming smile and always flawless hairstyle were definitely advantageous when meeting new groups.

Rachelle slipped quietly into the arms of her Lord on Friday, May 9th, 2025.

Rest in peace, dear Rachelle, and intercede for us with our Triune God.

Funeral:
Rachelle’s wake and Mass will be on Saturday June 7th at St. Anthony’s Church located at 4 Union City Road in Prospect, CT at 9 and 10 am respectively.
