On Saturday, June 22nd, an Open House was held at our new Administrative Office building at 508 B Pomfret Street in Putnam.

After 102 years at 72 Church Street in the former Morse ‘Mansion’, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit have officially moved into a much smaller, but very practical single floor and handicapped accessible building.

Saturday’s event found some 100 people coming and going between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. Smiles, congratulations, some ooing and awing, hugs and hand shakes were well knit into the warm and cheery atmosphere enhanced by Mother Nature’s collaboration.

At 2:30 the lively tours and conversations were paused and a well-planned blessing service was held. The Rev. Ed Dempsey interwove the walk through blessing of the facility into the appropriate prayers and songs offered by a committee of Sisters and Associates. Home-baked goods and refreshing beverages capped off this community event. We do hope to welcome many to our new location as we plan to host a variety of events in our spacious gathering room over the years.

If you did not have the chance to be with us for the Open House, please feel free to drop in. We will be very happy to offer a guided tour. You may contact us at 860-928-0891.
