As hurricane Lee continued to make its way up the coast of New England, just a little under 100 grads of Annhurst College gathered in Woodstock, CT to participate in the annual alumni reunion.
The mixed group featured students who graduated in the 1950’s through the 80’s and celebrated their similarities and differences, their academic possibilities and choices as well as their on/off campus activities. All converged essentially on their common dedication to the ever-living Spirit of their alma mater, ANNIE U, and the solid education received and the strong basic sense of values that one and all carried with them into the rest of their lives.
Mary LaChance, class of ’80, is the chairperson and lead organizer of this annual event that features an 11 a.m. meet and greet, valuable socializing and catch up time, a delicious lunch, a very short and succinct business meeting, a remembrance of deceased alumni and staff, a Q & A session and, of course, a gigantic raffle with all proceeds going to the Alumni Association to cover reunion expenses and to the Daughters of the Holy Spirit ($1,000) as a contribution to the Sisters’ Development Fund in gratitude for everything the Daughters did and gave to students during their years at the College.
The attached photos give a bird’s eye view of the reunion activities and a generous hint of the joy and camaraderie shared during this 2023 moment of close encounter for Annhurst College alumni.
Next year’s gathering will take place on Saturday, September 21st so mark your calendars now and plan to attend this annual life-enriching gathering.
