In spite of the howling winds and gushing rains of the remnants of hurricane Ophelia, 34 members of PCA alumni groups gathered at Hank’s Restaurant in Brooklyn, CT on Sunday September 24th to rekindle memories, make new ones and enjoy one another’s company for the afternoon.
The room filled quickly as guests arrived looking for long lost friends and classmates and meeting up with some grads they had never seen and/or did not recognize.
Once hostess Dr. Françoise Gauthier, Development Director with the Daughters of the Holy Spirit USA Province and a long time teacher at Putnam Catholic Academy, greeted and welcomed everyone, Sr. Michèle Bisaillon, DHS, Provincial Leader, offered the invocation that included remembering alumni who had entered eternal life since last September’s reunion.
As the meal progressed the conversation grew more intense and laughs and good times were shared by one and all.
Dessert was preceded by the awarding of honor certificates to the following who celebrated key anniversaries of graduation:
JEANNE HISCOCK, 70 YEARS
ANNETTE KIRBY, 65 YEARS
OLIVE ARTERS,
JANET LABELLE,
MARY JANE LEBLANC,
SUSAN GRIFFITHS, 60 YEARS
DENISE DEGRAY, 55 YEARS.
Immediately following the award presentations the traditional raffle was held with all the proceeds from the 17 gifts going to the alumni Reunion Fund to cover expenses for this year and to provide for upfront costs for 2024.
A special thank you to all in attendance and to those who could not come but sent a donation to lend a helping hand.
We look forward to our next alumni gathering in September of 2024 and expect a larger attendance than ever.
If you are an alumus/a of PCA and did not receive an invitation please contact us at the DHS Office of Development PO 497 Putnam, CT 06260 to update your address info.
