Linda R. Lamoureux of Putnam, CT entered life eternal on April 8th, 2024 after a long journey with cancer.
Linda was born on March 9th, 1954 in Putnam. She was the daughter of Walter and Aurore LeClaire. In 1972 Linda married her best friend Michael Lamoureux. The couple had two children, Michael Jr. and Daniel.
Linda was a giver, an extremely kind and dedicated woman to both her family and her work and to the Daughters of the Holy Spirit with whom she collaborated as a covenanted Associate since her commitment in 2015. Her positions with the ARC of northeastern CT and the Senior Center in Brooklyn fit the charism of the DHS and Linda’s personality like a glove: help others to the fullest extent possible without counting the personal effort or cost. Linda received many awards from city and state for introducing innovative programs to enhance life in the community for groups that are often underserved. We will remember Linda for her gentle yet determined disposition, for her simple and attractive manner, her abilities to multitask and for the total enjoyment she sensed in sharing her baked goods, her garden vegetables and flowers and her comforting words as a Hospice worker. Linda, we miss you already but know in our hearts you are waiting to intercede for us with the Lord. Rest in peace and glory in the Trinity’s everlasting Love.
Linda will be laid to rest in St. Mary of the Visitation cemetery on Providence St. in Putnam on Saturday, April 13th. Visitation with family will begin at 9:30 at the Gilman-Valade Funeral Home on Church Street. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church 218 Providence St. in Putnam.
