On Thursday, March 13th, the Daughters of the Holy Spirit hosted a gathering for Sisters, Consecrated Seculars and Associates to celebrate Catholic Sisters Week and the presence of two guests in their midst.

The comfortable temperatures were perfect for invited guests to travel to our Administrative Center in Putnam to meet and greet Sr. Anne Donnelly and Mr. Thomas Dorlanne, General Bursar and Administrative Finance Officer for the Congregation.  They both reside in France where the Congregation has been headquartered since its foundation in 1706. Sr. Anne had previously visited the USA while this was a first visit for Thomas who is new on board with the Daughters.

The other purpose of the gathering was to highlight Catholic Sisters Week by sharing a presentation on the immigration issue in the USA today. Ms. Maryselys de Jesús, representing the Collaborative for Justice, presented and led a productive and lively session to the group.

A prayer service helped all present to enter into the spirit of the day and to reflect on the meaning of each underlined section in our personal daily lives.

The event ended with a multitude of homemade goodies and international treats being shared by all. The participants were also invited to commemorate the gathering by contributing canned goods or/and cash that would be given to the Daily Bread program, a local food pantry.

The photos offer a glance of Sr. Anne and Thomas, of Maryselys and of some of the other guests mingling and socializing.
