It was on a kind of morning that broadway musicals are based on that the Annhurst College Annual Alumni Reunion was held on the former campus of the alma mater in Woodstock, CT.
Over a hundred alumni gathered in the Loos Center for the Arts to enjoy warm hugs and embraces, to share screams of joy, to partake of scrumptious brunch items and a never ending number of selfies and other photos.
The memorabilia on sale and the official greeting from Association President Mary LaChance melded generations of students into one body that eagerly relived their good old college days that rejuvenated Annies and Andys and made time stand still for a few hours.
A short business meeting reassuring everyone that the coffers are in order was followed by a motion to offer the traditional annual donation of $1000.00 to the Sisters as a contribution to our 2022 Annual Fundraising Initiative.
The giant raffles then took place with prize winners scrambling to retrieve the treasures from their perches. Campus tours were also available and guests were invited to roam about the facilities while reminiscing over the many special moments that had filled their 4 year stay many years ago.
Goodbyes were prolonged and most held promises of meeting again next year and of staying in touch in the meantime.
There was no doubt that all were extremely grateful to the reunion organizers and even more grateful to their “old” professors and to their classmates for a heart-warming experience.
The photos show members of the class of 1972 who celebrated their 50th anniversary as alumni of Annhurst College and Mary LaChance presenting the Alumni Association gift to Dr. Francoise Gauthier, Director of Development for the Daughters of the Holy Spirit and herself a graduate of Annhurst as well as a former professor of modern languages at the campus.
