Marion Colella, member of the DHS Associate Branch since 1998, peacefully entered life eternal on July 8th.
Marion was born on December 2nd, 1941 in Waterbury, Connecticut and was the beloved daughter of Michael and Rita Izzo. Gifted with high energy, the young Marion discovered her skills as a beautician and master barber. Her personality was perfectly matched to her chosen profession and she was deeply appreciated by her many customers over the years.
Marion had high expectations of herself and of others and was perfectly suited for her role as Deputy Registrar of Voters in Waterbury. She wanted her local government to succeed and did her utmost to lead it in that direction. Marion spent many extra hours performing her duties and assuring equality for all.
Colella was extremely dedicated to the Church and gave her time and energy helping out in several local catholic parishes as Eucharistic minister, on the Ladies Guild and as a choir member. She also served as director of Religious Education in the parish of Sts. Peter and Paul.
Marion’s love and devotion to her family were unsurpassed, and she found joy and laughter in the smallest events and things. Marion was generous to a fault and expected nothing in return except the respect her kindness elicited and a promise that her good deed would be passed on to someone else.
Marion leaves her husband Deacon Charles and two children Anthony and Veronica.
Rest in peace, Marion, and be eternally comforted in the arms of your Lord.
