It was on December 8th, 1706 that the Daughters of the Holy Spirit were founded in Brittany, France. A handful of young, enthusiastic and Spirit-filled women vowed to live a charism of Love/charity in outreach and service to humankind especially the poor and the most vulnerable.

It was fitting, therefore, that on the 8th members of the 3 Branches of the DHS Family gathered at St. Mary Church in Willimantic, CT to remember their roots and celebrate the occasion as they honored their patroness Mary, on the feast of her Immaculate Conception.

The liturgy was shared with the parish at their 12:10 mass and included greetings by Provincial Team Leader Sr. Michèle Bisaillon, and the renewal of commitments by the Apostolic Religious, the Consecrated Seculars and the Associates.

A simple luncheon of pizza and trimmings followed in the church hall of St Joseph Church also in Willimantic.

Photos offer highlights from both parts of this fun traditional celebration that always affords space for camaraderie and renewed commitment as DHS Family.
